Think About Using Invisible Aligner Trays To Straighten Your Teeth

If you are finally in a place in your life where you can afford to get your smile fixed by getting it straightened, that's a good thing. However, you may not want everyone to know that you are getting braces. It can be embarrassing as an adult to wear braces. However, there are things you can try. One of those things is invisible aligner trays.

Aligner Trays

These are trays made out of clear dental plastic that you can just snap over your teeth to help get them realigned. The trays fit snugly against your teeth because they are created from molds of your mouth, so there are impressions of your teeth for them to fit into. The spaces for your teeth will slowly but surely adjust your teeth because every time you get a new tray, which happens every few weeks, the spaces for your teeth will be just slightly different, and that is what makes your teeth move into alignment. There are several benefits to using these aligners to get your teeth straightened.

Removable

One of their biggest benefits is that they are removable. That means you can take them out when you are ready to eat or to brush and floss your teeth. That lets you keep your teeth nice and clean easier than if you had more traditional braces that had brackets on your teeth and wires which can trap food. It also means that you don't have the same kind of food restrictions that someone wearing traditional braces may have. With traditional braces, there are worries about certain foods dislodging the brackets, but since you don't have brackets, then you don't have to worry about that.

Less Painful

Traditional braces can be really painful. When the braces are first put on, the brackets can cause a lot of pain to your lips and possibly your tongue. That's because there is now the piece of metal adhered to your tooth and it can feel huge inside your mouth. The inside of your lips are very soft tissue, so now they have to lay over this metal and you can get sore spots or cuts from the brackets. Then, when the brackets get tightened, you can spend a couple of days with pain in your jaw from the new alignment.

If you are ready to get your smile straightened, but you don't want everyone to know you are doing it, invisible aligner trays may be the best choice for you. Are you interested in getting your teeth straightened? Contact a business such as Cobbe Dental & Orthodontics.

Tips for Living With Braces as an Adult

Braces are just for teenagers, right? Wrong. Last year, I became one of the thousands of adults that get braces every year. At first, I was ashamed and embarrassed. I tried to avoid talking, but at work, it is virtually impossible to remain silent all day. After the first month, I decided to embrace my braces and to help other adults do so, too. I started this blog to provide helpful tips for wearing adults as an adult. Your dentist telling you that you need braces does not mean your adult life is over. In fact, it could be a blessing in disguise.
